Focus Panel  &
Leadership Conference
Background:

A very dedicated group of community members, known as the Tri-Lakes Regional Focus Panel, meets regularly to discuss key issues relevant to residents and businesses in the Tri-Lakes area. The Panel was created to set an example and be a forum for the positive impact of working together towards improving the Tri-Lakes area.

The Panel organizes an annual Leadership Conference focusing on issues of interest for the future of the Tri-Lakes area.  Panel members were selected because they are recognized leaders and contributors that have a constituent following or prominence in the community.  The Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce serves as a facilitator and resource service to provide Panel support.  Each year, the Panel will select topics of common interest that are likely to become more important in the future and that need increased attention from our residents and leaders to ensure results that will benefit the Tri-Lakes area.

The first Leadership Conference was held in 2006 and looked at ways to create cooperative quality growth and to define our region as an attractive area of interest and destination. In 2007 the Conference focused on education, senior services and the role of the Economic Development Committee.  The issues for 2008 were centered on the importance of water, electricity and gas for the area.

In 2009 the Leadership Conference will look at prospects for growth and stimulus in the Tri-Lakes area. Our speakers are expected to be Representative Doug Lamborn, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Economist Fred Crowley, Sheriff Terry Maketa, business owner Allison Brown and others. Please consider attending this important Conference and provide your input to help shape the future of our wonderful Tri-Lakes area. Invitations can be requested at the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce by calling 719-481-3282.
